TELEPHONE KIT - navigation radio - NTEL The navigation radio Telephone Kit comes with the telephone audio cable and the required telephone mute cable. The telephone cable will have 3 feet of cable with a 1/8" mono male stereo plug on one end. The other end will have three wires with contacts crimped on the ends. These contact will need to be put into an existing plug already in the back of the radio. The telephone mute cable has one contact on the end which will need to be put into an existing plug already in the back of the radio. The other end should be attached to the mute function wire of your car telephone kit. The cost of this cable will be $19.00 each postpaid within the USA. Directions for this kit are here.

Please note that the 2005 Touareg DVD nav requires the STEL cable as the nav radio on this car doesn't have the connector in place.
TELEPHONE KIT - standard radio - STEL The standard radio Telephone Kit comes with the telephone audio cable and the required telephone mute cable. 7 BUTTON PHONE CONTROL MODULE This is the Volkswagen European 7 button phone control module that replaces the North American 5 button control module on the right side of the steering wheel. 2006 RCA AUX WIRE EXTENSION HARNESS:
Includes an extension wire harness specifically for the 2006 model with the AUX RCA connector in the center console. This makes the re-installation of the AUX RCA plug much easier if you have very little extra wire behind the AUX plug. $30 plus $2 for shipping within the lower 48 states.

VW originally used the chrome Phaeton start/stop button with the red lighted circle in European Touaregs. When VW added this option to North American Touaregs in 2007, they switched to a black button with the words "engine start/stop" on it. Both are shown below.

Touareg Euro Light Switch:

Touareg Euro Light Switch.
Includes one Touareg Euro Light Switch. Replace your US version light switch with the Euro version to allow for:
Pos. 1 - no lights (or DRLs only if DRLs are switched on).
Pos. 2 - auto headlights and parking lights (with DRLs if switched on).
Pos. 3 - parking lights only (no DRLs even if they are switched on).
Pos. 4 - headlights and parking lights (regardless of DRLs).
Front fog lights activate when you pull the switch out to the first stop in positions 3 & 4. Rear fog lights activate when you pull the switch out to the second stop. IMPORTANT: North American cars are not equipped with rear fog light wiring. Moving the switch to the rear fog position will cause an error to be displayed in the MFI. To avoid this error, you either need to wire the rear fog light and install a bulb, or you should bend back pin 7 on the switch.

Touareg Aspheric Mirrors:

Installation: I put a couple of pieces of blue painter's tape on the top rim of the mirror housing, tilted the mirror all the way down, used a wooden paint stirrer to pry it a little further down, then slipped a thin butter knife on the back to separate the mirror module from the holder. Next unplug the wires, plug them onto the new mirror. Then press the new mirror onto the holder. Done.
